Probably after Predator is released, but now with the announcement of Dwayne Johnson as Doc Savage, I've lost all interest. Wish Shane would go with someone else.

I believe Black initially wanted Chris "Thor" Hemsworth, but either Hemsworth passed, or (more likely) the studio told him, "No Johnson, no movie."

Nowadays, Johnson is a more "bankable" international star.
