Jennifer Beals is a glimpse of the future?

Do you think Jennifer Beals, beautiful as she was and still is, represents a glimpse of the future of how mankind will look with more racial and ethnic intermixing? I imagine that in the late 21st century onward, there will be more people who look the Jennifer Beals type, mixed race. Isn't that a good thing? When we all start looking as if we all come from a similar mixed or generic ethnic background then there will be less racial strife or bigotry. Am I a dreamer? Perhaps. But I prefer nice dreams to nightmares, hopes rather than despair. All Jennifer Beals needs to round her out is a little touch of Asian and ouila, we've got the perfect formula.
Hey, remember that 1979 sci-fi cult classic, THE LATHE OF HEAVEN? The young man is told by his psychologist to dream of a solution to racism...end racism. When he wakes up from his hypnotized sleep, racism is indeed ended. Everyone has gray skin and gray-white hair. I think the Jennifer Beals look is a more aethetically pleasing solution.

I've said this before as well and you're right that that would be a great thing and end to the world's problems, but I don't see it happening. People are just way too divided, unfortunately, even in 2010, the worldwide interracial marriage rate is less than one percent. 99 percent of worldwide couples are same race...it's insane. And people in the US are so phony about it. "I didn't consciously chose a same race person, that's just who I fell in love with," uh huh...what a crock.

Then look on these boards. Every time you go to a page for a black woman who marries a white man there's some absolute moron on her page calling her a "sell out" or a "traitor." It's insane it's still such a big deal, and I would want it to change more than anything, but I don't know that it will. The world will probably end before people finally come together, probably because the different nationalities/ethnicities couldn't come together.

No, because she looks more Caucasian. When all the mixing is done I expect people to look like Obama with curly reddish hair and a slight slant to the eyes.

You don't think that people won't find 10 other things to hate each other over instead?

Besides, bigotry isn't the problem in society. Its class warfare.

Incredibly naive. Arabs and Jews look alike, but they've been fighting for 5000 years. We're being socially engineered to race mix. South America is very mixed and still racist. It's about class---it always will be.

But all races are beautiful and should be respected.

I like variety in people, blonds, gingers, and brunettes. Imagine a world without Carl Lewis, Grace Jone, Lena Heady, Brad Pitt, Jet Li, or Vincent Van Gogh. What if they're was just one race all mixed? Boring.

Many years ago I read that by a certain year all people would be the same color. I wish I could remember the projected year.
