I swear I heard rumors back in the '80s that Jennifer Beals is Jewish. Her father was African-American and mother is Irish-American. Traditionally, Judaism is matrilineal. Few Irish-Americans are Jewish. After Beals' father passed away her mother married a gentleman named Edward Cohen in 1981. That may have been how the Judaism rumors began. Cohen is most likely Jewish, but that would not make his wife and stepdaughter Jewish. The other way Beals could be Jewish is if she converted, and I don't think that is the case.
