aging 'beautifully'

How is it that some women actually get even better looking as they age? I mean Jennifer was always beautiful, but I think she looks even better now for a forty-something woman, then she did as a twenty-something, twenty years ago. Does she look a little bit older? Sure. But she looks and seems so comfortable with who and what she is, and I find that extremely fascinating and very sexy. I wish more women would just go with the flow, accept the inevitability of aging, and make the best of whatever they've got at the time. Sometimes that can add up to be quite a bit more than they ever had when they were young, even if what they had back then was substantial. Jennifer sure seems to be a great example of that. "Sexy" can happen in a number of different ways, and doesn't always have to involve youth. In her case, she's still got the looks too, but that isn't what I find to be her most attractive feature.

She's only in her forties. That's hardly "aging". You seem to be defending her and her age. She needs no defending.

reply

chill out, i dont think the OP is doing that at all. She is older then she was in flashdance obviously, and that is a fact. She is now in her forties and she still looks stunning, ive never seen a woman age as beautifully as jennifer, no ones defending anything, its just called making a comment and paying a compliment.

"by the time im finished with you, youre gonna wish you felt this good again"

Jane Seymour looked better in her 40's as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman than she did in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger when she was in her 20's. But yeah, Jennifer Beals looks great too.

OP: "How is it that some women actually get even better looking as they age?"

With all due respect, how is it that you can find that so unfathomable?

reply

because most women age badly.

reply

Oh really? So you've met "most women", especially those who are aging?

Even if your self-proclaimed truism were accurate, it would have to apply to all genders since meat rots equally. I mean, Pat Buchanan and John McLaughlin aren't exactly sexy. And even if men didn't age horribly (based on looks), at least women aren't mostly impotent like men, and we have all of our hair past age 40. Gah. Older men wish they were as sexy as older women. Good thing women have a higher sense of being, and aren't as superficially STUPID as men/boys.

I think people can tell the difference between young and old women.

Besides, you can grab at all the footholds of elitist agism you want and call the wiring of the chemical urges in a male brain to be "superficially stupid".

It doesnt really matter nor does it change the fact that men prefer younger women and thats not likely to change (unless youre an ageless stunner like Beals).

reply

Elitist ageism? I'm not sure where you got that impression. Your say men prefer younger women over older women unless older women are stunning-- well, duh. Don't most people, men AND women, prefer someone who they find extremely attractive, regardless of age?

But I won't try to speak for everybody the way you do. Your post saying women age badly has absolutely no merit.
