Do you think the current scandal had anything to do with Bourdain's suicide?
Or was that more due to her leaving him for a young Frenchman after she took Bourdain's money to pay off her victim?
shareOr was that more due to her leaving him for a young Frenchman after she took Bourdain's money to pay off her victim?
shareWe'll never know, as he didn't leave a note.
I wouldn't be surprised if finding out that his girlfriend was a child molester pushed him over the edge though.
No. How about we don't speculate on someones tragic suicide? Bourdain had been depressed for a long time and actually sought help, however, he didn't follow through with the doctors advice.
Child molester?? The kid was 17. It MOST states, thats the age of consent. Most 17 year olds would be thrilled to bang a woman outside their age range. This is a money grab and nothing more.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America
She met the kid when he was SEVEN and texted to Rain Dove that he'd been sending her unsolicited nude photos since he was TWELVE that she NEVER reported to his parents or to police.
The only people who don't find that both suspicious and disgusting are suspicious and disgusting themselves.
he knew about the molestation and sided and believed her. And I hate to make these type of comments but what exactly did he have to be depressed about??
shareDepression doesn't discriminate. Just because someone has money, doesn't mean their automatically happy. Again, a 17 year old sleeping with an older woman is not molestation. As mentioned before, thats the age of consent in many states. This is a money grab, nothing more.
shareit is molestation, he had been sending nudes to her from years ago, surely when he wasn't at the age of consent.
shareAnd 17 is not the age of consent in California which is where this act of coitus seemingly happened.
shareI know it isn't. I'm just saying its hypocritical, although in California, most things are.
If you can legally be charged as an adult at 17, you should be able to sleep with someone over 18.
I'm from Scotland where the age of consent is 16, I've lived in other countries where it is even lower than that - I'm not fighting for anyone or pointing out how silly the law is to anyone who knows how teenage boys (And girls) are but Asia, as the adult in this situation, has broken the law of the land she was in.
For a judge this will be a simple open and shut case Padeen.
The wider ramifications of this are that she held a position of power over someone not as strong in the industry as herself (She directed his first break into movies alongside co-stars Peter Fonda and Marilyn Manson - both massive Trump haters and influential), started the #MeToo movement which addressed the eternal battle for submission and sexual exchanges for opportunity within Hollywood and had her boyfriend, now dead by suicide apparently, pay off Jimmy to stay quiet about it.
Add to this she had 'groomed' him for ten years since he was seven (Check out the poster: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BZDE1MTA1ODAtZTgxOS00YjkyLTg5M2UtNTYxYmQ5MGU1NWNjXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNDkzNTM2ODg@._V1_.jpg and all of a sudden she's the baddie, Weinstein has a case that she is not to be trusted and potentially many more will be faced with the same problems in the future that the #MeToo campaign was hoping to address and get rid of.
There are tonnes more secrets hidden under all of this, that's for sure and how long and far it will play out is anyone's guess at this point because a den of thieves can't be trusted.
She nor any of these other movie stars started #metoo. They all have valid stories I’m sure, but many of the most visible of them seem to be opportunising on the exposure telling their stories gives them.
Illegal or not, that pic is creepy. She really does look like she just had sex and he looks 15.
Even if he looks 28 the point is he was 17 and was, under the laws of that region, a minor and she should have known that having played his mother ten years prior.
I'm sure Weinstein is an asshole and that there are a lot of other assholes out there who need to be reigned in but the law can only work with what it has and what it has comes from a bunch of people who either don't stick to the law themselves or keep quiet for fear of not having a career.
Only TV lawyers work on the "Creepy" angle, real lawyers get this dealt with by the law and she broke it.
How this pans out is really the only place eyes should be at the moment.
I get the feeling that AA just used AB for everything she could get her dirty, grubby hands on. Once she took all she could get she tossed him aside like a piece of garbage.
Case in Point: laugh out loud!
1. She starts dating him and gets on several episodes of his hugely popular and critically acclaimed show.
2. She gets him to make PR statements supporting her in speaking out against HW. I have to re-read those. Those statements catapulted her into the American mainstream and beyond. This is her dream come true. The only reason I ever knew who she was is bc back in the early aughts she was supposedly sleeping with this super sleazy guy I know, but if true, that would tell me all I need to know about her, laugh out loud. She uses this newfound attention to upstage all the other celebrity survivors jumping onto the #metoo circus bandwagon. She and RM become attached at the hip for their kindred narcissism - partners in crime... for awhile.
3. She gets AB to agree to and keep his word on making payments to total $380,000 to JB after JB called her on her hypocrisy and threatened legal action. AB was, once again her knight in shining armour.
Maybe after that he was broke and she no longer needed exposure on his show. She had that X show all lined up, which I presume would be much bigger than AB's show. So she wanders off and into the arms of a French guy and doesn't even try to hide it, even basks in the spotlights of the pap pics.
AB was a drug addict with chronic depression issues. His relationship with AA and the way she treated him may very well have sent him over the edge.
So to answer OP's question, I think this scandal may very well have played a part in AB's tragic suicide, but only a piece of it.
I got the same vibe, and literally cringed.
shareNo, receiving unsolicited pictures is not molestation.
noun: molestation; plural noun: molestations
1.
sexual assault or abuse of a person, especially a woman or child.
