So Casey Affleck's next movie is a crime drama where Casey plays a detective who becomes captivated with the heist skills of an old bank robber played by Robert Redford. The film is based on real life band robber, Forrest Tucker.
I don't know if Casey has the dramatic skills to pull off a detective convincingly. His recent Academy Award for Manchester By the Sea was like, pure luck.

shareBecause the character wasn't a huge stretch for Casey's dramatic range. It was a strong performance though because the movie itself was good. I like Denzel Washington's performance in Fences better. But Fences wasn't as good as Manchester By the Sea.

shareI'd buy him as a detective. He pulled off the cop thing in Triple 9 and the private detective thing in Gone Baby Gone.
