I so agree. I never liked him in any role except for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford mainly coz the role suited him and he really took advantage of this. Anyways it is not just his voice but his blank and emotionless face. His Gone Baby Gone performance was dreadful. I almost fell asleep not from the movie itself but by his blandness. Don't get the love.

definitely agree with this statement. Assassination of Jesse James was awesome! he has the most pathetic, weak-sounding, babyish, barely-understandable, wimpy-girl voice .... which is perfect for a coward (Asassination). Or a small-town, crazy-as-crap, psychological sheriff (Killer Inside Me).
But after watching several of his movies I've realized he has the same damn voice for every single role.

I don't like him. People say he's a good actor. I disagree. Nobody speaks the way he does, its stupid. It's like he's paying too much attention to his speech in movies. You know everything is so wispery and precise. It's not realistic. In his interviews he speaks much more like a human being.

Agreed, Gone Baby Gone was a schit show, and his performance was awful. Same for Soul Survivor, all he does is whisper.

His voice is fine.

If you can't stand hearing him talk turn on the subtitles =P
