I agree, I had some befuddled prejudices of my own about Casey before I watched Jesse James, I suppose I associated him as the lesser Affleck brother without really even seeing or noticing anything he was ever in but then again Ben's run hasn't been so great either disregarding some of his more recent work but after I saw Jesse James I was astounded by how good his acting was, I really believed he pulled off the youthful naivety of Robert Ford who's arc goes from the awkward and often bullied kid, to desperate and debatably regretful for having to kill the man he looked up to. Plus those moments leading up to the actual assassination had me squirming in my chair, the tension was so sharp.
