Casey Affleck accused of sexual harassment on set of Joaquin Phoenix doc

Actor and director Casey Affleck is being sued for sexual harassment by a producer who worked on his directorial debut.

Amanda White, who worked on the upcoming documentary I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix about the Affleck's brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix becoming a rapper, has filed a £1.3m lawsuit against Affleck.

White accuses Affleck of becoming "hostile and aggressive" after she turned down his advances, plus accuses him of making "uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace" and of putting together an impromptu shoot in a Las Vegas hotel room filled with hookers and transvestites, allegedly set up by Affleck "for his personal gratification", reports Reuters.

According to the lawsuit, when White declined an offer to get in bed Affleck "violently grabbed her arm in an effort to intimidate her into staying".

"On one occasion, Affleck instructed a crew member to take off his pants in order to show (White) his penis, even after [White] objected....Affleck repeatedly referred to women as 'cows'; he discussed his sexual exploits and those of other celebrities that he allegedly witnessed; and asked [White], after learning her age, 'Isn't it about time you get pregnant?"'

The 19-page lawsuit also accuses Affleck of breach of oral contract by denying her the agreed £33,000 producers fee after she walked off set, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Michael Plonsker, one of Affleck's lawyers, said: "The allegations brought upon our clients are preposterous and without merit. Ms White was terminated from the production over a year ago. She and her lawyers believe that this maliciously and erroneously filed complaint will cause the producers to succumb to her outrageous and baseless demands. She is mistaken. The complaint will be vigorously defended and cross-claims will be filed against her."

White had previously worked with Casey Affleck and older brother Ben Affleck on Good Will Hunting.

Old, old news.

That article from 2010 doesn't prove that the sexual harassment didn't happen. It just states the opinion of two other woman that he worked with that said they didn't see this behavior on set and it goes against what they know about him.

He did settle both these cases since that was written six years ago and never countersued as the article stated he would. It doesn't mean that he did these things but the fact that he did agree to settle both cases doesn't make him look completely innocent.

I just read an article about this...What a scumbag. He always looked and sounded like a douche, so now this just solidifies it. Hope his new movie bombs - the one that they are trying to make sound like it's the movie of the decade and that he should win every award possible because of his "amazing" and "riveting" acting. Hope it fails, and that his career does too...

I just saw him on 'CBS Sunday Morning' and they mentioned his legal settlement. His behavior is atrocious and his career should suffer because of it. But knowing Hollywood --
