Apparently, people hate Casey Affleck. Why?

Wow. What a shock to come to this board and find all these nasty--and I mean, truly NASTY--posts written about Casey Affleck. That's he's a serial "predator," that he "abuses women," yada-yada. What does any of that have to do with his films or his being a movie star?

I first saw Affleck in Gone, Baby, Gone, and I thought he gave an amazing performance. Totally believable in every regard. He's never disappointed me in any film, from that point on.

To me, he's a good actor, perhaps even a great actor. I wish people would concentrate on that, instead of rumor-mongering about his private life.

I hate all abusers, sexual predators, pedophiles, women beaters and ... no matter how they look or how talented they are they all are very disgusting and creepy
Casey Affleck is abuser and sexual predator (Sexual Assaulter) so i hate him and very disgusted by him

he's beyond unlikable. there's absolutely no aura of goodness or kindness about him. although ben affleck can be unlikable as well, he's definitively not as unlikable as his younger brother. but at least ben is hotter and his looks redeems him.

I've heard the publicity and I still am shocked. I just haven't made up my mind on whether or not I should keep watching movies where Casey is the lead..

I don't hate him, but he has a weird sort of nasal sounding, rather high pitched voice.
