Wow...getting into it with Stephen Colbert...really?

Casey Affleck has really done it now. His little tirade on the Late Show is going to be something he's not going to be able to just shake off. Colbert was being his typical self, interjecting humor and making light of his guest, as is always the case, but Affleck came off like an A-hole. Right from Jump Street it seemed as if Affleck was trying to escalate the situation into a fist fight - like he was throwing half-drunken verbal jabs at another patron at some Harvard bar or something, trying to bring it to a boil, when Colbert wasn't being serious whatsoever. Affleck took every joke the wrong way and kept butting in on Colbert and trying to ruin the punch line, like some second-rate heckler at a comedy club. You'd think that Affleck had never seen Colbert before nor seen anything he's done.

I always knew that Casey couldn't act his way out of a paper bag and he's definitely not even half of what his brother is, but for Christs sake, could he at least show some humility and try to drop the Boston tough-guy act for once while on a national talk show?

Was he ever on Colbert's old show. Because I've never seen anything Colbert has done (well maybe in a commercial preview) so is it possible he never has either?

TV Guide on-line made it sound like Colbert was making rude jokes which Affleck didn't like (or making just making jokes that Affleck conceived as rude) Whereas another site made it sound like the jokes were innocent but they rubbed Affleck the wrong way.

Are you 12, you have never seen a Colbert show? Casey acted like a jerk and Colbert made the best of it, because he is a professional.

Casey is a great actor and I love his films but maybe he is trying to be the next Joaquin Phoenix? Whatever, Casey came off looking worse in this situation

I'm 45 (how old are you??) and why the heck would I see Colbert? He was on late, late at night and I was never interested in seeing his show. Now that he's replaced Letterman, I probably will eventually but it's not everyone can watch EVERYONE on late night TV.

Casey didn't think Colbert's jokes were funny. I guess. Who knows. Maybe he was already in a bad mood when he got there and the jokes set him off.

Casey Affleck works in the entertainment field. Colbert is not just the former host for one of the most popular late night talk shows on cable tv, he's now the successor to David Letterman, arguably the greatest talk show host ever not named Johnny Carson. Unless Affleck has lived in a POW camp for the last 7 to 8 years, there's a pretty good chance he's at least seen Colbert in action. Not to mention Colbert has hosted some award shows as well.

Affleck knew what he was in for when he agreed to go on Colbert's show, and I think he knew he was going to go in there acting like a complete a-hole thinking it would come off differently than it did. All it came off as is that Affleck is a hotheaded, confrontational bee-yatch with no sense of humor and a VERY short fuse who desperately needs some anger management sessions.

If there was any awkwardness, it was because of Colbert's set-up questions. I don't think Casey was mad, he rolled with the punches. I also don't think Colbert was trying to instigate anything. A host can be nervous, too. People make so much out of the littlest things.

Clearly if you don't watch late night comedy central shows, you are 12.
