I thought her family was Muslim or Christian, but found out her dad is or was if he has passed away Jewish. Her mom is /was Jewish as well. Her dad also hailed from Aleppo. Did she speak to the press during the political strife years ago? I do not recall seeing her in the media. Then again, I wasn't that interested since it was a sad and disturbing news item.

Abdul is observant in her Jewish faith, and is proud of her heritage. She once stated, "My father is a Syrian Jew whose family immigrated to Brazil. My mother is Canadian with Jewish roots.

Her mom is French Canadian. I wonder if Paula is fluent or semi fluent in French, Syrian, or Portuguese? Her dad once lived in Brazil. I will have to check her Wiki bio.
