Message Boards Dissolution

I'm disappointed at IMDb's decision to get rid of its message board system. I rarely post on IMDb's facebook page and I don't use Twitter. I imagine too many trolls eventually became overwhelming for the admins? I don't know, but I'll miss coming to IMDb and posting on the message boards. Kate Winslet's is one of my top 10.

I would have to agree. But there have been a lot of trolls lately posting all kinds of political crap that have nothing to do with each movie.

There definitely have been. It's a shame.

Yeah, not happy about it. The message boards are what kept me coming to IMDB, it was usual for me to watch a film then hop on here to it's board to see what others thought about it. And that's not to mention me browsing Movie Awards and Film General once in a while.

Even though Kate's board wasn't the most active it was nice seeing other fans thoughts on her but hey, on the bright side I guess there'll be nothing for Janowitz/Frantique/Sesquick to haunt any longer....they'll have to end up being a no name Twitter/Youtube troll to get their kicks 

Well said, zerobahn.

Yep. You and hundreds of others I bet. If I ever had a question about a movie I knew I could count on someone on the message boards to get an answer. Plus if I saw an actor or actress and wanted to find out more about them IMDB boards were the place to come.

Not as good as IMDB but at least you can have discussions with other people. Here are some of them.

My guess is if enough people from IMDB sigh up for these sites they will only get better. If you like message boards it is better than nothing.

Thanks Burningfire78. I had hoped that IMDb would reconsider since so many members have expressed their feelings about the message boards impending closure.
