That test scene was brilliant and I feel bad he wasn't included in the eventual actual film. I wonder if it was about star-drawing power or just not available at time of final shoot.

I completely agree. Rewatching that test scene is what brought me to this page. I love this guy and I'd like to see him get bigger roles.

I believe Wincott filmed the scene for the director and star to take to distributors - and he's thanked at the end of the film's credits.
