great in true detective

he's the best thing about season 2 of true detective.

it's really great (and surprising) to see him in a different kind of role. good for him that he stepped up from the usual silly funny characters.

Yeah, I was thinking that also. He's better in serious roles than comedic. I kind of got tired of his comedies, he's the same in all of them. Good to see him do something different.

Fighting a religious war is like fighting over whose imaginary friend is better.

Are you being sarcastic? He's awful in True Detective so far. In fact, his bad acting is pretty much all people are talking about at this point in the series.

reply

What acting? The guy says every line with the same expression, in the same tone, with the same inflection, at the same volume. It's shocking that he still gets any work.

reply

His character is on the same level as Walter White/Bryan Cranston, but Vince's acting is like a sitcom...

reply

Yep, that's right. Everyone I've discussed the new season of TD with says the same thing. He's clearly the weak link in TD Season 2.

I'll take Punctuality

reply

No offense, but I completely disagree. He's just way out of his league doing serious dramatic material. Perhaps his long list of terrible "comedy" films has biased me against him. My visceral reaction is that he's just not a strong actor.

i guess his performance is splitting opinions. i've seen many comments on how good he is on TD and many complaining that he's terrible.
