I Hope She Doesn't Read All These Posts !

If I learned anything about the internet and blogs it's that some people are effing morons. Correction, A LOT of people are effing morons ! Most of these people who rudely comment about Dominique's (or any celebrity's) looks and careers are the faceless, nameless people we walk past everyday downtown, in Malls and on the streets who we'd never give a second thought to other than to think 'there but for the grace of God go I' or...'damn look at him/her' and shake our head. We'll never hear from these people except on blogs and forums where they leave negative and mean spirited comments about people who have accomplished more, seen more and contributed more to society than they themselves ever have or ever will.

This is as close to a celebrity as most of them (the morons) will ever get other than the movies or the occasional concert and even then they probably sit mainly in the nose bleed sections... judging and criticizing full of jealousy, anger and fantasy. Then they go home and sit in their lonely, dull little worlds searching the web for celebrities to put down in an attempt to elevate themselves as someone who matters, someone whose nasty opinion could make or break somebody. Fortunately and ultimately, they don't matter because if they really had something to say we'd see their face and know who they are beyond the handles they hide behind as they type their envy driven rants.

It's fine and natural to have an opinion but if it's stupid AND negative why feel the need to share it with a mass audience ?!?!?

I hope Dominique doesn't read all the things people post about her on blogs but if by chance she reads this one I know I speak for a lot of people when I say...'You're beautiful and the best is yet to come...keep up the good work !!!!

It's fine and natural to have an opinion but if it's good AND positive why feel the need to share it with a mass audience. The fact remains this is a message board where all opinions can be placed. It could just as easily be said why can't you go about your life ready to kiss the ground celebrities walk on, why to you have to post your positive comments here. If the best is yet to come it would already have come.

I don't see why people get their panties in a wad over what anyone says over the Internet.

Good. Bad. Big deal.

It's comparing apples to oranges. Any actor/actress knows it's part of the territory. I'm sure Ms. Swain would probably just laugh at anything posted her if she read it. Just be a big boy or girl and remember it is worth what it costs...nothing. Welcome to the world.

Actually, Twitter now seems to be the closest people can get to celebrities.
In their Twitter descriptions, a lot of actors have links to their IMDB pages, so Dominique Swain has likely read some of this stuff, but I figure when criticisms and bashing statements are conveyed ignorantly, they really just look stupid and have no effect. Besides, Dominique Swain may not be an A-list actress (a category that doesn't have the same meaning as it did ten to fifteen years ago) but she is steadily working and making more money for a month or a few months of work than the average movieviewer makes in several months or a year of getting up every morning to go to a job he hates and goes home to a family he forces himself to tolerate.
