Why did Julia Roberts change her mind?

Regarding Julia Roberts, they have never really talked about it but she did run off with his former friend, Jason Patric and lived with him for a while. I've always just assumed she had cold feet but it was gutless of her to not tell Kiefer directly.

What's the story with panicking and trying to call her? Was that after the mutual friend told him the wedding was off?

Jude Cole just posted a bit of the story on Facebook. Kiefer got a call from her agent, not a friend. So cold. Jason Patric was visiting her regularly on the set of Hook before the break up. (I read that from someone who worked on the set) Kiefer wrote a song about it, Calling Out Your Name, on his new album. It's a heartbreaking song. One of the lines at the end is " you know you lied". It really crushed him and affected his life for a long time.

Julia is a witch. Her own brother can't stand her. Eric says she's a spoiled, mean brat.

To be honest, looking back at relationships they both had until now, it probably wouldn´t have worked anyway :)

Whoa, whoa, whoa... only a little bit? That's beeping brutal, she's a beeping beep. Beep that beeping beep. Kiefer is one of the most down-to-earth celebrities I've ever met, I didn't realize he went through that kind of garbage with Richard Gere's beeper. Luckily he's probably better off for not marrying a beeping beep.

I really don't believe these "couples" and doesn't it seem they always start before a movie comes out and then they always break up after???

maybe the agents decided that Jason Patric needed the publicity more and pared them up to create buzz but his career didn't really go far
