How does this guy keep getting work?

While this might seem like a hate thread, it is a genuine question.

The guy cant act, he can barely even read his lines half the time, he is a drunkard who attacks people and everything I have seen of him says that he is terrible to work with. But he keeps getting work still.

Does anyone know why? Is it some sort of Hollywood politics type of thing, or is his brand name strength from stuff like LB and 24 still strong enough that people want to hire him?

I could understand if he had the body of a male model or something like that. Curious as to how he gets work.

One actor as far as I can tell, dissed him. Countless have come to his defense. Many actors who worked with him before, have worked with him over and over again. Directors who have worked with him have called him the hardest working guy on the set and work with him over and over again. He never drinks before a work day and never on set. He gets to work early and stays late and is very involved in all aspects of the work. He is much respected by his peers. He does still drink but has grown up a ton and regrets his bad alcohol related decisions. He's nearly fifty now. His new album has a few songs about drinking and the are very introspective. You chose to listen to nasty TMZ gossip. I say look farther.

You mean the guy with the serious drinking problem who constantly denies having one and who repeatedly turned up on set drunk and/or drinking never drank before a work day and never on set? Sure :D. You have never spent any time around a boozehound have you?

Anyway, I dont want you to defend him. Frankly I dont really care as I am never going to work with him. Just curious as to why he gets hired. Seems like more trouble than he is worth, and he isnt really a household name or anything.

Wow, I see you care more about body type and what a person looks like vs. talent and authenticity.

The man is good at his craft. That's why he continues to get roles.

You said you're not hating but it sure sounds like it. Quacks like a duck...must be a duck.
