So athletics are not art, but ppl pretending to be other ppl is art ??

Art Definition: "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power."

How is acting an art form but martial 'arts' is not an art ???

This old hag needs to retire, she's out of touch.

reply

Help me figure this one out: People acting like people who do martial arts is an art form, but people doing marital arts are not. LOL.

Good point, holchie...

This fvking bitch out so out of touch.

reply

She is SO out of touch... they all need some of god in their lives... not Scientology! Sit down Meryl.. we don't want to hear you!!!

Actors practice their craft in legitimate art forms - theater, TV, and film. That is what makes it an 'art'. Martial arts is more of a self-defense tool. No need to Meryl to retire, just because she wants to see theater, TV, and film continuing as mediums.

The problem is she was telling us what is an art and what isn't. Now I don't care for sports, but I'm certain all these men and women practise their craft and hone their skills as much as Meryl Streep. And the best get awarded.

reply

I have never met 2 people with the same definition of the word art.

Actors are so out of touch with reality that they end up under the impression that they (who read lines that other people write for them) are Great Artists along the lines of Beethoven. Pretty embarrassing for their sake.

reply

Not all actors trumpet themselves as 'Great Artists'. And if some of them gain fame and money along the way, why WOUDLNT that go to their heads a bit? It is the case with folks in many walks of life - politics is no exception. For example, how 'humble' would you call Trump?

Yes, that is what I figured!
