My thinking in all of this was like the OP's. A Hollywood liberal bashing Trump? That happens all the time. But Streep bashing America for watching football and MMA? That is way beyind called for and truly shows her elitism and snobbery. And as to your point of football does t need to be the sole source of entertainment.. wow who gives her the right to tell me what I should or should not be watching? She thinks she is better than most of the nation bc her movies are art and she is more cultured. The nerve of her for telling us what we should be watching is unbelievable. As long as we do and watch what she thinks we should, it's ok. But if we don't, then we are ignorant bumpkins who can't tell the difference between art and fighting. That is the definition of elitism. She says don't bully, yet tries to bully me into watching her definition of entertainment and art. What's funny is most liberals do t even think she said anything wrong with regards to MMA and football, and think she is correct. One asked me to explain what was so wrong with what she said. I told her if you have to ask me, you just don't get it. It this attitude that led to Trump winning, and it's obvious they still don't get it. With every speech like this, they dig themselves further behind. And bc they can't see why people are even offended, they blame everything else, like Russians or the FBI or fake news.
