Now you're being silly. You just named 7 movies that Meryl got Oscar nominations for and she won two of them. Supporting actress for Kramer vs Kramer and Lead actress for Sophie's Choice. These movies weren't meant to be action packed. You're just mad that Meryl call Trump out on being an *beep* and a bully. You may not like what Meryl had to say but you can't deny the talent.

She's talented the way an opera singer is or a ballerina. Or maybe she's just a woman's actress. If I had to wager, I'd say that 90% of men think she's totally over-rated and that her acting is a sure cure for insomnia.

OP, I agree with you whole-heartedly. She's certainly a good actress but very often overly showy and lacking in subtlety. Someone like Alicia Vikander, for example, is already well ahead of her in talent.

Meryl is accomplished at "emoting" and "acting", in the exact way Jon Lovitz parodied on SNL.
