Why do the Oscars hate her?

I don't understand something. She has been nominated 20 times but has only won 3 times! That is a terrible ration. In your opinion does Meryl Streep not get the proper credit she deserves?

This is due to the thousands of blonde, overage Hollywood actresses who haven't been able to land a part for the past 3 decades. Assassination attempts have been futile so they band together at Oscar time. If it were not for this, Streep would have won each and every time.

These awards are bullsh!t to begin with. There is no objectivity to them - someone can with them posthumously simply because they died. In addition, they want to be "fair" about it, and, well, this actor has won 3 times so even though they gave an incredible performance, this other actor hasn't won one yet....

What an absurd thread. These constant nominations indicate the Academy's undying LOVE for Streep. Alan Rickman, unquestionably a genius actor, died without receiving a single nod because he didn't have the right industry sycophants. The likes of Donald Sutherland, Steve Buscemi and Kevin Bacon are headed the same way, sadly.

Oh, and having an Oscar count surpassed only by Katharine Hepburn sure indicates "hate" on the Academy's part...

Absolutely. Streep basically IS Oscar and everything the Academy wants to present themselves as being, and no doubt upon her death they'll be a special Oscar created by the Academy and given annually in her name. I also believe as much as Hepburn is honored for her four wins, history is gradually writing equally that she campaigned against Streep in order to win it.

That's not hate. That's respect. The odds of getting nominated are high, getting multiple noms even more so. Multiple wins are astronomical odds.

Women Oscars are usually given to beautiful young women, especially if they showed their tits in a dramatic role

But, that being said, Streep has been extremely blessed throughout her career. She has more Oscars and Golden Globes than 99% of other actors. Even if Katherine Hepburn has more Oscars than her, Streep will be more beloved when all is said and done, unless she's also the subject of a Mommy, Dearest-style hit job
