Something with a sheen is shiny, and there is Sheena of the Jungle or
whatever. Does anyone know where the family name Sheen comes
from? Do you think Martin Sheen ever considered changing it?

It's a stage name. He changed it due to bias against Hispanics.

I had heard he took the name because they were looking for an Irish actor and since he was part Irish, he took the name of his local Bishop.

He took the name in honor of Bishop Sheen.
