Tom Selleck should be on NCIS as Magnum

I think they should bring tom magnum onto NCIS (JAG would have been nice too)
Think about Magnum was a navy seal/part of naval intelligence. I shouldn't be
to hard to work him into a story that Gibbs and co. investigates. Both are
Bellisario so they even kinda exist in the same universe

Its funny i have said that for a while now! I agree and I think you might see that soon because Magnum p.i just won the "Hero" award on T.V Land at a awardas ceremony and 3 out of the 4 were there to accept the award.(Hillerman wasn't there) My point is with the rumors of a new Magnum p.i movie (Even without Selleck) and the old show is still popular...there is a shot. Would be good for hyping a movie. Look at last year and the
Magnum p.i reunion on Las Vegas. I think Ncis would be a perfect choice for a guest appearance. He rejoined the Navy in the season 8 finale too. Ncis would have high ratings that night and Selleck is still a big t.v draw. Check out his Jesse Stone movies!

That is a great idea. Wasn't it great seeing them at the TVLand awards!

I definitely concur about how great it would be for Tom Selleck returning as Magnum in an "NCIS" episode. No doubt it would be a huge ratings winner for the series. I can actually picture a confrontation between Magnum and Gibbs. As for a major motion picture on "Magnum, P.I.", having someone from today's generation playing that character seems to be the norm and of course a huge money issue. Case in point: "Miami Vice". I liked the series, but Colin Farrell and Jaime Foxx portraying the roles made famous by Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas was a disaster despite being the number one film when it premiered in 2006. No one could ever replace Tom Selleck in the role of Magnum. Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if producers of a new Magnum film would select someone like a Hugh Jackman to portray the private investigator. Its all about the money and box office success.

LOL, that would be hilarious, at least the thought of it. I don't watch much TV, but I'd definitely tune in for that.

Sounds good to me,and if harmon ever leaves,he could be a good replacement maybe?.

Sounds like a really great idea. But there is a huge problem: Magnum P. I. and NCIS are NOT the same universe since DiNozzo has pointed out on numerous occasions that one of his favourite TV shows was/is in fact "Magnum P. I.". So it is recognised in the cosmos of NCIS that Thomas Magnum is a fictional character in a TV show.

So a crossover would be highly unlikely.

But the idea is still sweet!

Excellent point MrCastle!! Nice to see someone paying attention. What WOULD be interesting would be to have Tom Selleck playing a very "Magnum-esque" character from Naval Intelligence, and watch Tony's reaction.

A very good suggestion. Perhaps a Naval Intelligence officer in the rank of a Captain. A Navy Captain (Selleck) and a former Marine Corps Gunny (Harmon). There's bound to be some clash of personality between the two. But the ratings would sky-rocket if Tom Selleck ever made a guest appearance. NCIS has consistently had high ratings (with climbing ratings each season).

NCIS wouldn't need the ratings boost, but as they say... it doesn't hurt :)
