Hard to believe....

It's really hard to believe that January 29, 2015 Tom will be 70 years old! It's also amazing that Tom and the rest of the Magnum gang can collect social security. Tom will always be Magnum to me. Blue Bloods is a really good show, but nothing goes better at the end of the day watching an episode of Magnum, P.I with an ice cold beer! I know it's none of my business but I was always curious as to how much money Magnum P.I left Tom at the end of the series in 1988. Has anybody met Tom? Is he nice to fans? Will he sign things you give him from his Magnum days and other works that he done throughout the years? He seems like a really cool guy!

Yes, I have met him. I sat next to him on a flight from LA to NYC on Labor Day a few years ago, just before Blue Bloods began airing. And, yes, he was very nice to me and, by proxy, to my mom - an even bigger fan - on whose behalf I requested an autograph. I mentioned having a crush on him since he was the Chaz man and recalled a commercial he did; he recalled it better and corrected my recall. : ) He talked a bit about Magnum, the new show, and his ranch then fell asleep after studying his script. When we landed and I told him how pleased and excited my mom would be to receive the autograph, he smiled broadly, and hugged me goodbye. He was friendly, gracious, and charming. It it a very nice memory for me because I feared he'd be an arrogant jerk and I would forever be disappointed.

I met him too back in the day when he had a cottage in the muskokas. Very nice and down to earth. I didn't talk to him but he was very nice to the customers at the general store that spoke to him.
