Was watching 'Mr Baseball' and had a thought about 'Blue Bloods'

I would love to see Dennis Haysbert do some recurring role on "Blue Bloods". Ok everyone, what could be the role??? And please by all that is Holy, please have it be a good guy. Tom Selleck, Dennis Haysbert, or Denzel....some guys I prefer as a good guy. :)

Some ideas could be:
CIA Agent, helping after National Security Incident,
Joking 4 Star General....Norman Schwarkzkopf type,
FBI joint investigation,
former Hall of Fame Ballplayer....Hank Aaron type or Rosie Greer type,
or Self Made Business executive...Herman Cain type.
or even a former Military man turned crime scene expert...Think Mac Taylor(Gary Sinise)

Plot possibility would be the characters longtime and loving wife is raped and beaten, after initially coming under suspicion Dennis' character helps solve the crime with direct help from the commissioner.

Normally, I wouldn't stick out my neck w/o checking but if Mr. Haysbert is who I am thinking of, he had a rolle and then was killed off about five
Minutes into the episode.

Correct. The original post is from 2013, though, so he had not appeared on the show yet.
