Is it just me or was anyone else surprised at their marriage? I know little about him, but I always envisioned him with a different type female. As I recall reading, she was performing as a ballerina in London. He became enchanted with her performance on stage and arranged to meet her. I guess love at first sight does happen once in a while.

shareNot sure about that...I'd read that he met her on the set of Magnum where she was doing a guest spot on the show...and they fell in love. The rest is history or, at least, that's what the big wigs sent out to the press.
shareShe may have been in Cats, but she sure has a horse face. Of all the guest stars, he makes a terrible choice. And her horse face hasn't aged well, it's gotten longer and uglier. Oh well.
shareI noticed over the past several decades that attractive men most of the time end up in long-term relationships (or marriages) with rather plain looking women. Think of Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher (rather ugly), Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke (no real beauty), Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (she's average looking at best), Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin (she didn't age well), Warren Beatty and Anette Benning, James Brolin and Barbra Streisand, William Hurt and Mary Beth Hurt, Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Caviezel and his wife. I could lists dozens of more examples.
