Personally, I really like most of his films. I don't know if I'd call him pompous so much as arrogant and entitled. Maybe that's just a byproduct of directing for so long. I hated his GG speech...except for the tribute to Tony that got lost in the music because Ridley rambled on and on about nothing at the beginning.
