What's he like to work with?
Are there stories from actors or other crewmembers that discuss what Ridley Scott is like on set? To me, he looks to be very serious and probably would run a tight ship.

shareRidley Scott's films typically have very in depth documentaries about how they were made so there is a fair amount of info on this. I don't work in the film industry so this is just based off of numerous docs and interviews I've seen, but it seems that people find working with him to be a good experience, though demanding as well. I think he IS fairly serious and probably does run a tight ship, but I don't get the impression that people dislike working with him. In the early days I don't think he knew how to communicate well with actors so he got a bad reputation, but all the evidence I've seen suggests that he's mellowed a lot in the last couple decades and has learned to communicate a lot better.
shareSir Ridley Scott said that he was too drastic with actors and actresses during the 1970s and 1980s.
He changed his method during the 1990s.
Sir Ridley Scott is easier to work with since 1999. He changed almost his entire method during the filming of GLADIATOR. He is a different artist since GLADIATOR.
SIR RIDLEY SCOTT, LUC BESSON, JOHN WOO, KATHRYN BIGELOW, ZACK SNYDER, MICHAEL BAY, etc....
