Cruise did okay (but would not be my first choice).
Schreiber, however, would be well-cast as Jack Reacher or Travis McGee. In fact, McGee would be a great role for him as that character narrates the book series and Schreiber always and easily hits a home run in that aspect.
Christian Bale is now in talks to be McGee (not a bad choice) but Schreiber - or a young Rusell Crowe - would be better.
