Surely the sundance institute will be his biggest legacy and crowning achievement. It still blows my mind that he founded the biggest independent film festival in the U.S.

I'll always be disillusioned by how, around 1985, SI changed its definition of independent filmmaker to "someone who succeeded hugely in another arena and now wants to try his or her hand at filmmaking" in the hopes of achieving more commercial success from lab projects.
Crowning achievements? I was staggered by ORDINARY PEOPLE and THE OUTLAW TRAIL.
