It's actually really incredible how alike they are, both looks and just general mannerisms. I guess I never knew cos I haven't seen many Robert Redford movies. Just saw The Natural and it was like Brad Pitt traveled back in time to take the lead role.

I remember when that movie, A River Runs Through It came out....which was directed by Redford. Brad Pitt, who starred, was pretty much an unknown at the time and I remember discussing with my other half at the time how it looked like Redford had chosen an actor that could have passed for him as a young man.

I don't see any resemblance other than them both being handsome blonds. I think Leonardo DiCaprio looks more like him than Brad Pitt but even that not so much.
Leo has mostly Russian and German blood - he is only 1/4 Italian! He also has a heart shaped face and deep set, intense eyes; Bob is softer in his beauty, as is Brad. Bob and Brad have larger eyes. I really don't see a resemblance between Leo and Brad/Bob other than blond hair and blue eyes.
To me, yes, Brad and Bob look like son and father.

I don't believe ancestry, other than perhaps coloring, really matters. People in the same country don't always look alike but one may resemble another from a different nation.
I don't believe either man looks like a son of Robert Redford. The resemblance for me is more about the mannerisms. One example is how RR and LD would move their respective heads to get the hair out of their eyes without using their hands. A child may look like either parent and not the other, both, or neither but nurtured over nature behavior often stands out and can be telling.
BP, LD, and RR don't physically look closely related except for maybe being blondes. Physically speaking, I believe LD and Rick Schroder should have played brothers. They've had similar builds.

Derek Hough looks like Brad Pitt. They both have chimp like features. Robert Redford doesn't. All are good looking. It's just that some people resemble certain animals.
