How would you evaluate his horror filmography?

The Evil Dead is a very good movie though ultimately it's nothing more that a low budget splatterfest in the woods.

Evil Dead II is fun. Splatter and slapstick in the woods. Superior production values here though sometimes I find myself preferring the straight horror of the first.

Army of Darkness. I barely consider this a horror movie. It's more of a slapstick action-adventure. It's not one I rewatch often, which I guess means I'm not that big a fan of it, even if I quite enjoy it when I inevitably do sit down and watch it.

Drag Me to Hell is a very good movie. A proper looney tunes horror. Raimi repeats his slapstick style here. I enjoy Alison Lohman as the lead and think the story here is great.

I haven't seen The Gift.

Raimi enjoys a very favorable reputation amongst horror fans, he is often named as one of the best of all time. I wouldn't go that far because he hasn't directed enough in the genre, most of his work is within one franchise and he is a 'one trick pony'. I also consider Evil Dead (2013) and Evil Dead Rise (2023) to be more than equal to Raimi's ED efforts.

Raimi ranked.

Very good movies;
1. Drag Me to Hell
2. The Evil Dead
3. Evil Dead II

Good movies;
4. Army of Darkness

Indeed. They're my #1 and #2 ED movies as things stand.

Dead is great , all films and remakes.

He makes average horror in my opinion. More goofy and quirky than scary.

Not a fan of his slapstick-horror. I rank the original three ED films in the order they were released, with TED being the best by far (AOD I find almost unwatchable these days). DMTH was enjoyable enough, but I have no desire to ever rewatch it. As for his Spider-Man stuff, I'm not a Marvel guy. I saw them when they first came out, but not since.
