NO putting - Controversy aside
If we are to be civilized human beings with a future on this planet for everyone, then we have to cull out bullies, exploiters, criminals and abusers and keep them from getting enough money and power to evade the law in the hundreds or thousands of ways people in power do today. It seems like a no-brainer to me, but here you are making a deal about a serial rapist criminal Roman Polanski.
Believe me, there are thousands or maybe even millions of talented people in this world who given the support and money could make movies much better than Polanski's garbage who do not need to be criminal and rapist.
Polanski makes great art, not garbage.
He's also a sexual predator who should be in prison.
Sometimes people want to discuss his films as they are. They don't want art dismissed because the artist was horrible. Caravaggio has done some of my favourite paintings. He was a murderer. John Lennon used to bounce women off of walls - I still like Come Together and Strawberry Fields Forever.
Brux, you're right: we shouldn't forget Polanski's crimes and he should be brought to justice for them.
But art is what it is whoever made it. If art is, as Shakespeare pointed out, a mirror up to nature, then sometimes that image will be ugly. Should we stop looking?
Why are you putting controversy aside? Y'all know he is an admitted pedo, right?

shareI am compelled to point it out because the term pedo is used every time someone has sex with someone underage. Paedophilla is actually a psychiatric disorder and only affects about 3% of males, and even fewer females. I'm not sure why you think it's interesting that I know that. I just really don't like the misuse of that word.
