ON “SARAH JESSICA PARKER DOES BALLET” by Dane Youssef

THAT’S RIGHT, SJP-Fangirls and other such followers. “Carrie” used to dance…
REMEMBER THAT tutu she had on in the opening credits… ?

I LEARNED OF SARAH'S personal experience in ballet early on in her career. See, she’s always quick to point out her background in classical dance.

Sarah is yet another actress who as a little girl, practiced ballet. Not only did she take ballet, but she learned at the world-renown School of American Ballet. She’s often been a spokeswoman for liberal sex and women expressing themselves thanks to her role on “Sex and The City.” But also since her beginning dreams and aspiration were to sing and dance, she originally planned to find some career to do all that first-and-foremost.

Hey, when I bought the DVD for the Home Video/DVD for The New York City Ballet Workout… I saw that she herself did the intro. She proudly calls The New York City Ballet her all-time favorite dance company (in her all-time favorite city).

It all has to be, doesn't it? She also personally hosted the “Battle of The Nutcrackers Dance-Off.” She’s especially gone on to be the official spokeslady for anything ballet-related in New York. I guess that’s HER city now. Maybe it always has been.

As long as she’s around anyway. I remember Steve Martin himself first casting her as a would-be spokesmodel and the object of affection in L.A. Story. Someone finally saw Jessica Parker with romantic eyes. And in a sexual light. Roles for her changed after that. In a big way. However… this now New York and Sex Icon was still voted “The Unsexiest Woman Alive” by MAXIM (and countless other random people).

Still, she dances. She does what she can to stay a ballerina at heart.

It feels so good to see her—and all of us—come full-circle… right back to the well. I wonder if she and now Headmaster Peter Martins are tight.

Would SJP herself had danced with the company itself if she ever had the chance? She took singing lessons too, so would she be a Broadway dancer doing musicals?
So would be having sex with all of New York, New York and telling all of New York, New York (not to mention the rest of the world) about it? Would anyone else have? Wasn't it literally her who got the show made—wasn't it her decision to adapt that original book? “SEX AND THE CITY” would not be a show.

But… it’s safe to say Jessica Parker herself would still be a star… one of the brightest shining all over New York…
