Legends of the Fall actress Julia Ormond sues Harvey Weinstein, Miramax, Disney and the CAA

Funny she never went to the police. If true she should be ashamed of herself for doing nothing until now. How many other women wouldn't have been victimized is she had bothered to call the police in 1995. If true then she is an enabler and shares guilt for all the things he did after that day.
shareYou are an idiot and an obvious worthless troll. Read up a bit on the victimology of sexual assault victims and grow up.
shareYou must not care about women to make that statement. Or you are one of those fools that thinks women are too weak to dial 911.
If a woman wants justice she needs to go to the police as soon as possible, the quicker you go to the police the more likely you are to get a conviction.... of course if your goal is just to get money then by all means wait until it is no longer possible to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt and you only need more likely than not to get your money.
Go away you disgusting troll......
shareNah. Police don't give you money or fame for declaring yourself to be a victim.
shareYou’re obviously not a woman.
shareAnd you obviously don't care about women or justice.
shareBut you are not a woman. You couldn’t be that obtuse.
Otherwise you’d know what it’s like. And you wouldn’t say such stupid things.
I'm a lawyer and I know how hard it is to get a conviction. And the longer a woman goes before reporting a rape the more difficult it is to get a conviction. This whole thing with Julia is a joke. She was clearly capable of discussing it with her agent which she details in an interview about what happened... but she failed to call the police. Now it just appears that she is only after money. That is pathetic. IF you had a brain and would use it you would realize that she could have done more but made a conscious choice not to which put other women at risk. If you cared about women you would not think she is the victim rather she is an enabler.
shareI doubt if you’re a practicing lawyer.
As far as Ormond goes, if what happened with Weinstein happened, yes. It’s a long time ago but I really think it comes down to CAA too. And I have to say, she had an incredible rise in stardom and it came to a complete halt. I think of all the actresses whose career was soaring, it was Julia Ormond’s. I’ve always wondered what happened that we didn’t see more of her. It appears that CAA was no longer interested in representing her once she reported the incident to them, she says.
You haven't worked with any real lawyers then. And if you can go tell your agent you can tell the police. Stop trying to enable rapist and pretend women are helpless.
shareThis is really sad. I always wondered why she fell off. Her career just tanked.
shareIndeed, shades of Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd? who both said HW destroyed their near A list careers like Ormonds
shareYes, I too wondered about Judd. She too was a rising star. Mira fell off after winning the oscar, which is typical for some actors. Harvey had many enablers and protectors. What Ormond is doing, will get to the bottom of it.
shareIt's not like there's not some normal explanation involving Hollywood moving on to the next It Girl once the current one's box office numbers flag and she crosses 30.
Connie Nielsen, Diane Lane, Sherilynn Fenn, Sarah Jessica Parker, there's a whole list of women her exact age who also were contenders for a massive, A-list career, along with many others just 1-2 years younger. Julia Ormond is barely top-50 if you search actresses born 1965-1968 on IMDB.
There's a million and one reasons not Harvey Weinstein why Julia's career turned kind of ordinary over 30. And its not like she stopped acting, she just didn't become a megastar.
While I don't like to question her motives, she asked CAA for $15 million to not take her accusations public. Smart negotiating? Or just an obvious cash play?
I'm also not sure its completely unreasonable to ask whether she's just one of the people who went along with the Weinstein bargain and now feels regret over it. Harvey was horrible, but lets not pretend he was only a predator and there weren't some women who felt like the juice was worth the squeeze.
That's plausible. I'm not one of those folks who always believe the women.
shareGonna be hard to prove something that happened in a hotel room in 1995, but I believe her. Harvey is a creep.
shareGood for her. She was a wonderful actress and I hope she milks them good.
shareIf they take and pass a polygraph, I am all for them to win. Anita Hill did so and passed.
shareShe had an attachment ,apparently, to the pigeons in the barn. Which is fucked up.
