Lethal enough to change his IMDB photo!

Liam Neeson is a force onscreen as an action star and clearly a powerful guy offscreen.

After all, he changed his terrible IMDB.com picture. Now that's impressive.

The Irish actor admits he loathed his picture on the uber-popular movie website. He's not alone in Hollywood, where actors generally grin and bear it.

Not Neeson. The butt-kicking star of films such as Taken and A Walk Among the Tombstones used his particular set of skills to convince IMDB founder Col Needham to change it during a chance run-in at the Tombstones premiere.

"He's a lovely guy, and I told him I do use the site," Neeson told USA TODAY of Needham. "I said, 'Do me a favor. Just get rid of that (expletive) photograph of Liam Neeson you have. Please get rid of it.'"

"It's one of those (pictures) where you are rushing in somewhere. And your hair is undone. You look as if you've escaped from some institution," said Neeson.

Neeson said he used to commiserate with fellow thespian Alan Rickman (his Love, Actually and Michael Collins co-star). Rickman complained to Neeson that for years his picture on IMDB.com was his goofy big-headed alien character from the 1999 comedy Galaxy Quest.

"So when you punched him up (online, Rickman's) photograph for many years was that character's head," said Neeson, laughing. "This big sort of conehead."

Needham vowed to correct the Neeson situation on the spot (do you blame him?).

"He said he will (change it). We'll see," said Neeson. "Otherwise, I'll come after him."

Sure enough, the harried image of Neeson was changed when we checked out the website this week. A beautiful studio shot stood in its place. Well done, Neeson. Call off the hit.

The techno-phobic Neeson does admit the IMDB app is the only one he uses.

"My agent will say, 'Look there's a director who is flying in. Can you meet him for 20 minutes?' And I punch up the director on IMDB and I get a history of someone immediately," said Neeson. "That is one app I do use. I'm very technophobic. I really am."
