Sometimes I get them mixed up. When I try to think of a movie Modine is in, I come up with a Begley movie, and vice versa. It doesn't help either that most of their movies are not really big or very notable. Nevertheless, I think they look very similar.

shareNo way!! I totally disagree with you. Matthew Modine is sooo hot. Ed Begley, Jr. is not good looking at all (at least in my opinion) He is kind of nerdy looking.
Matthew Modine has done a ton of good movies. I think Vision Quest was the first one I ever saw him in and thought he was great. Memphis Belle, Full Metal Jacket. And now that I'm older, I really enjoy watching Bye, Bye Love.
I just saw Streamers the other night. Wow....I just couldn't stop watching. What a great overlooked movie!
As he ages he looks like EBJr. They both are tall, gawky and blond in that way that doesn't age well. I was watching an episode of St. Elsewhere and realized that EBJr looked then the way Modine looks now.
Actually they are like two trains in a word problem; Modine has gotten less attractive as he's aged and EBjr looks much better, softer somehow. old looks great on EBJr, but not so much on MM.

Bye,Bye Love was tons better than the overhyped mess Parenthood.There were solid performances from all.Especially Janeane Garafalo who stole the movie.
