What exactly is she relevant for?

Wow, from this interview you would think she was this accomplished actress who is now tackling directing:

She needs a reality check ASAP. She directed a short nobody has heard of and now she feels like Jane Campion. If she wants to highlight sexism in the industry, fine, but it all seems like a big publicity stunt because she knows she's irrelevant and the whole sexism/pay gap in the industry is a hot topic at the moment. "I hate acting.", gimme a break, she was a mediocre actress whose peak was showing up naked to the VMA's, as far as acting goes, she's nothing more than a footnote on the WB archives.

If she were still a popular actress, I doubt she would be saying she hated acting. She's only slamming her career because she doesn't get those jobs like she used to.

She was popular and respected in the 90's dude...just stfu.

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

What is your definition of "respected"?

I think she was just a horrible actress!

She's *beep* awesome and has a pretty big fan base. Dawn is a fantastic short film I'm very excited for what she's doing next.

First off, Rose was never that type of actress you seem to be referring to. She did a lot of cult type films because she has a different and offbeat personality and style that people love her for. Second, she's been speaking out a lot within the last few years because as I would hope so, most people get more wise as they get older. Not saying she wasn't intelligent she probably just finds it easier to speak out and stand up now than when she was younger and dealing with other issues.

She has an inflated sense of importance and high opinion of herself BUT I think it's refreshing to see someone in Hollywood just be herself and do what she wants. She's always been a little more outspoken and weird actually. I think speaking her mind is part of reinventing herself since her acting career is dead.

Her short film was actually well done; we'll see if can repeat that with a feature film.

She made a lasting impression in her horror debut, Scream. Before joining the horror film, she was apart of cult classic indie films. Scream proved to be a major success, which resurrected the entire horror genre, or at least the slasher sub genre.

Following Scream, she was known early on to being outspoken, provocative, free spirited, and showed off her assets at the MTV VMAs while being with shock rocket, Marilyn Manson. She starred in a decent sci-fi film, Phantoms, that starred Ben Affleck. Then came her most memorable more in the quirky cult classic, black comedy, Jawbreaker.

In 2001, she was thrust back into mainstream media and gained more attention for replacing Shannen Doherty on Charmed, from Season 4 to the show's final 8th season in 2006. It was in 2006 when she was primed for stardom when she teamed with Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino in Grindhouse: Planet Terror/Death Proof. Sadly, it underperformed. That same year she had a small yet memorable role in Brian De Palma's, 'Black Daliah'.

Around 2008 she was slated to star in Robert's reboot of Red Sonja. That production obviously never came to fruition. And it's rumored her affair with Robert destroyed future career choices. Around 2009-10, she joined Nip/Tuck playing a femme fatale character. Rumor has it she was fired from the show. It seems from 2010 that she relied on guest roles and Lifetime movies, where her appearance was more so judged than her acting talent. All in all, she should be living a comfortable life with her Charmed residuals and support from her fan base.
