Can someone settle this for me please? My boyfriend seems to think that Andrew had a drug habit back in the 80's. Is he right?

He had a serious drinking problem, he's been sober since the early '90s

He has admitted in interviews that he was drunk making Pretty in pink. And that he cannot remember making weekend at bernies! (probably for the best!)

Fair play to him for admitting and tackling it though!

i know he took up smoking for Elmo's St. but i dont think he continued after that movie...but dont hold me to that

It was brilliant lol!!! I never knew McCarthy had a drinking problem, maybe that explains why his career has went down the toilet huh.
