In the movie ST Elmo's Fire, he looks like another actor i know, but i can't place the name. can anyone help me?

not sure about St Elmo's Fire, but I was watching Pretty In Pink last night and noticed that he looks a lot like presidential candidate John Edwards, especially when he smiles!! :)

I think he looks very much like Timothy Hutton and Tim Matheson.

He looks a bit like John D. Lemay, who played "Ryan Dallion" on that show I loved, called Friday the 13th: The Series, and I also love "Ryan."
