Rob and his good 'friend' C. Thomas Howell.

C. Thomas Howell for those of you who don't know is an actor who was very popular during the 1980s he starred in a number of teenage 80s films about teenage angst and was a very popular teen actor during the 80s, he of course starred alongside with Rob Lowe in The Outsiders in 1983.

In Rob Lowe's book Stories I only Tell My Friends, Rob frequently mentions his admiration for C. Thomas Howell, now I was wondering if C. Thomas Howell is an actor whose career has kind of been on a standstill since 1986's Soul Man , why doesn't his good friend Rob Lowe or over the years have helped C. Thomas, I mean yes he still acts regularly but , why not cast him alongside in something, plus looks wise C. Thomas Howell hasn't or wasn't ( I don't know nowadays) looking good , he looked bad for his age due to an illness a couple of years ago, I don't know but if I knew him I would cast him or help him to improve.

what do you all think especially since all the other Outsider cast members are doing so well ( with the exception of Patrick Swayze who passed away & Emilio Ezteves who gained a lot of weight) look so good, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio Diane Lane , Tom Cruise, any thoughts?

Maybe Howell is too proud to take handouts?
It would be nice to see him in something other than Syfy movies but maybe he enjoys their hokey silliness.

Bingo you just hit the nail on the head I think , Mr. Howell has way to much pride in himself, career wise, hopefully good sense comes into his mind, and by the way on so many things, why so early in life have grey hair? why not do some sort a comeback why play the creepy guy always, I mean come on your right he was way too much pride, I don't why Rob Lowe hasn't worked with him again its odd, I hope there is no animosity between the two.
