Mathew Lillard's performance was top notch
I've just been recently exposed to SLC punk and I was surprised with the overall depth the film had. I thought entering into this film that it was going to be a mindless trip into the insanely carless world of 80's Anarchists, but soon did I realize that it was much more then that. It exposed the curiosities and worries that comes with the unstable life of 18 year olds. How clueless they really were and clueless everyone was. They searched for chaios, but in the end were just looking for something stable, a life with substance. The arc of Matthew Lillard's character came through really well, the first sense of symplathy I noticed from his character is when he meets up with old punker, Devon Sawa, and he has become a begger a quick look on his face really made you understand that the path where he was leading, held very little hope.
Incredible acting performance by Matthew Lillard, I mean if he begins to grab substansial roles like this in the future...oscar nod, without a doubt. He comes through so realistically, you can't get you're eyes off him. He is so enigmatic and rarely expect what he will do.
Best scene: When Bill, speaks about Ohio and how it is his home and how angry Matthew Lillard gets, incredibley executed
Great film and great actor, Milan
