Seems like I remember them being engaged,and then they broke it off and he married the redhead in his band.

Rumor was he broke it off because she didn't want children.

I guess Little Brucie was all the child she felt like she could handle at the time?

The actress you're thinking of is Julianne Phillips. Julianne starred in that early 90's television series Sisters. I would like to add that Bruce and Julianne actually did get married. However, you are correct about one thing, they "broke it off", err, divorced because Julianne didn't want children.
