Kind of a weird question I guess, and I know Scientologists aren't really supposed to smoke, but I watched an interview with her from a couple of months ago and was surprised by the way her voice sounded—it's much deeper than it used to be and has the distinct sound of someone who's smoked their whole life. Granted, she's always had a kind of husky voice, but it has the distinct sound of having been honed by cigarettes over a long period of time.
shareShe was definitely a smoker in her twenties. If you watch a lot of her 90's films she can be seen blowing smoke rings in nearly every film that she inhales in implying lots of practice. It was kind of her signature move that no one picked up on. NBK, Romeo is Bleeding, Strange Days and That Night are just a few examples. She was often shown smoking during photoshoots as well. I think she has quit since those days as you don't see her puffing much anymore but who really knows besides Ms. Lewis?
