share...or just about any other prolific or veteran filmmaker. I do feel that Lee has more hits than misses. I avoided Gemini Man, though.
shareWell Scorsese, PTA, Jeff Nichols, and David Fincher, and Nolan (although his last couple of films are a huge step down) are pretty solid. You're lucky you avoided Gemini Man, that movie was absolutely abysmal.
shareFor me Nolan is the very definition of hit and miss, and I don’t think he’s yet made a truly outstanding film. Scorsese has turned out a few that I disliked, Fincher has his mediocrities and Nichols hasn’t proven himself to me yet (I quite liked Mud and Take Shelter, didn’t like Midnight Special and Loving). I’m also mixed on PTA although his movies are always at least interesting even when not fully successful.
But of course it’s all subjective!
Yes, Gemini Man looked like tedious trash so I gave it a miss even though Lee is one of the directors I tend to check out every time.
