great actor

i have only seen him in die hard and recently, The Borgias

both great rolls, what movies would people recommend? (preferably where he plays a similar villain-type roll like the above 2 that i mentioned)

He's such an amazing actor, it's hard to narrow it down to just a few suggestions but if I could only watch a handful of his movies for the rest of my life, here are a few you definitely need to see:

Reversal of Fortune, obviously because he won the Academy Award for this one.
Dead Ringers... he plays two characters, twin gynecologists, and he is so brilliant that you get to a point where you are actually able to tell the characters apart. Directed by David Cronenberg, so expect it to be dark, super heavy at times, and a mind *beep*
Lolita... you will be surprised at how much sympathy he makes you feel for an older man engaging in such an inappropriate relationship.
Damage... sexy, sad, and wrong on so many levels. But so, so good.

I'd recommend the following movies. In some of them he plays a villian, like you asked. In others, his role his different but his acting is brilliant.

"Brideshead Revisited" (It is an old TV mini serie from).
"The French Lieutenant's Woman".
