He is a dead ringer for Karloff when he was in his 40's. And with makeup, they could de-age Irons.
Just imagine him playing Boris Karloff and then re-doing the making of Frankenstein.
Oh my god.
You all probably don't know who Karloff was. But as soon as I saw Mr. Irons on the big screen, I knew immediately that if they EVER did a bio of Karloff, they should have him in that role.
I wonder why no one has ever done this.

shareBut he better do it SOON. The time is passing and young people do not know who Boris Karloff is, and only the older crowd would appreciate it. I would watch this movie in a heartbeat. I wish they would make it on regular tv and not in the movies. A made for tv biopic about Boris Karloff. The ONLY person who could do it justice would be Jeremy Irons.

That's a good point about no one knowing who Karloff is; however, my guess is that few people knew who Ed Wood was, yet Tim Burton's movie was well received. If it's done right and promoted right, it could work.
shareFrom what I understand, Sarah Karloff, Boris's daughter, stated Jeromy Irons would be her first choice to play her father. I'd like to see him do the role. I think he would be really good in it.
shareReally glad I'm not the only one who saw the resemblance. I just noticed it watching Reversal of Fortune. He has a similar low timbre to his voice, as well.
shareJeremy Irons would make the perfect Boris Karloff. Mr. Irons is British, just like the late Mr. Karloff. And in some of his publicity photos, he even smiles like Karloff. Even Karloff's daughter thinks he is the perfect candidate.
Paging Hollywood filmmakers! Please make a Karloff biopic with Mr. Irons as soon as possible!
