The saddest thing is his children and wife have lost both a father and a husband. His family have lost one of their own. His friends have lost a great support in their lives.

And since he averaged 16 films a decade, we've lost out on many, many performances. Not to forget his stage work.

I can't think of an actor who had quite his range of emotion.

What a crummy reason he died for.

Me too. Like a friend.

I miss the fellow as well. 

strange, isnt it? i do, too. like an old friend, or something. i just wish i could have shake his hand, thank him, even without knowing exactly why.

I miss him too. Such an incredible talent and dedicated artist. Frustrating to lose him the way we did. I saw this tribute to his work posted on Vimeo---really captures his range of characters:
