as much as I love About a Boy, the movie that did it for me was Music and Lyrics. and I LOVE his performance in the two Bridget Jones', in the second one even more!

Impromptu .. his role in this movie turned me into his fan for life :) and afterwards came, of course, all the other movies that made him famous - 4 weddings, 9 months, Mickey, Notting Hill, Love Actually (that I love..), so on - but to me, it was Chopin that did it :)

Same. Impromtu. He was so young then. I saw it on PBS and Hugh gave a good intro to it. Said they had planned for him to wear a prosthetic nose to resemble Chopin, but the thing kept flopping around so they ditched the idea. He gives great interviews too. My favorite all time film with him is About a Boy.

Four Weddings made me a fan, then 9 Months (probably because it was such a crappy movie) made me think poorly of him. God! I hated 9 Months!!

Love Actually made me like him again and Notting Hill (I only just saw it) confirmed it!

Definitely About a Boy, although I really liked him in Bridget Jones and Notting Hill too.

I liked him in Impromptu, but didn't really register who he was at the time. After 4WaaF made him a virtual household name, I revisited Impromptu and was impressed by his range. :-)
